Description

Supra R3 Motorscope — Advanced Three‑Phase Motor Protection with Wi‑Fi and Automation

Key Benefits

  • Robust motor protection with comprehensive safety features — overload, under-load, over- & under-voltage, phase failure, sequence anomalies, phase imbalance, and frequent‑start safeguards.

  • Wide coverage — supports three-phase motor nominal current from 1A to 140A [with the default 250:1 supplied CT or up to 600A with a 1000:1 CT (special order by contacting us) and frequencies from 40–70 Hz.

  • Compact and lightweight — only ~296 g, ideal for DIN-rail or space‑constrained installations

Standout Features

  • Built‑in Wi‑Fi connectivity for seamless remote monitoring, control, and reporting via a web interface or the NCS Toolbox app.

  • Optional Ethernet Connector for robust network connectivity in industrial applications.
  • Optional Earth Leakage Detection for safe operations at 400V / 525V / 1000V by checking the motor leads for possible earth faults BEFORE the motor starts AND while the motor is RUNNING.
  • Up to eight programmable scheduler timers, capable of offline operation even during network disruptions.

  • Remote ON/OFF control streamlines operations and reduces manual intervention.

  • Under‑load recovery timer, auxiliary inhibit input, reset interface, alarm relay, and built‑in real‑time clock enhance automation and fault response.

Technical Specifications

  • Motor Voltage: Three-phase 400 V / 525 V / 1000 V

  • Control Voltage:  400VAC (on the Supra-R3A model), 90 – 240VAC (on the Supra-R3B and Supra-R3C models)
  • Current Range: 1A to 140A (with default 250:1 CT or up to 600A with a custom 1000:1 CT)

  • Frequency: 40–70 Hz

  • Relay Rating: 400 V, 8 A

  • Power Consumption: Approx. 3 VA

  • Cos ϕ Range: 0.2 – 1 (inductive)

  • Operating Temperature: -15 °C to +70 °C

  • Dimensions: Compact form factor; weight ~296 g

How It Works

  • During first‑time setup, the unit is calibrated while the motor runs under normal conditions. This defines the motor’s safe operating envelope. Continuous monitoring ensures the motor remains within those set thresholds.

  • If any unsafe condition arises (e.g. voltage spikes, overload), the Supra R3 takes immediate action to protect the motor system from damage.

  • Collected data from up to 43 recent motor stops can be retrieved via optimizer logging and used for diagnostics or maintenance planning.

Use Cases

  • Ideal for industrial motors, pump control, borehole installations, and process applications where uptime and reliability are critical.

  • Suited to remote or distributed systems thanks to built‑in Wi‑Fi or Ethernet connector and offline scheduler operation.

Additional information

Protection

Over-load (e.g. pump jammed) Under-load (e.g. run-dry) Over-Voltage Under-Voltage Phase Failure (e.g. a wire is cut) Phase sequence changes (e.g. after a power failure, the phases are swapped) Phase Imbalance (e.g. one of the phases carries more load than the other two) Motor wire Insulation Test: Before starting the motor, the B110 tests the motor wires to verify that none of them are down to earth. Not against lightning

Features

RECOVERY TIMES: The Supra has a Recovery Timer to allow a bore-hole to fill up before a restart attempt is made (after a run-dry condition). This timer is manually adjustable from 4 minutes to 17 hours. AUXILIARY INHIBIT: The Supra has an Auxiliary Inhibit input which stops the motor when the circuit between AUX and COM is OPEN. This input may thus be used to remotely stop the motor. For example:A normally closed pressure sensor may be connected to this input. When a specified pressure is reached, the connection will open and the Supra will stop the motor. REAL-TIME CLOCK: The Supra has a real-time clock. This allows the unit to store the date and time (year, month, day, hour, minute) of each one of the last 100 trips RESET INPUT: This input is used to keep the controller in the reset (no fault recognition) state. In applications where a soft- or star-delta starter is used, the controller can be held in reset for the duration of the start-up period. SCHEDULAR: Timer function with 8 timers. 7 Day 24 Hour timers. Setable with a start time and a duration time. SEQUENCER: 6 Time functions that begins at Motorscope start-up. With a ON or OFF duration. Example: 10sec Delay when power comes up after load shedding for voltage to stabelize.
